Hyundai i20 made it's debut at the Paris Motor Show 2008. Similar to its predecessor i10, the i20 will be manufactured exclusively in India and exported to other countries.
The i20 has been launched in 3 variants in India:
- i20 Magna
- i20 Asta
- i20 Asta(O)
The only difference in Asta & Asta(O) is that the O variant comes with side and curtain airbags which is a first for a car in this segment in India.
It has been initially launched with 1197cc Kappa petrol engine with 79 Bhp of maximum power and 110 Nm of torque. Hyundai is also planning to launch a CRDi variant in March/April 2009.
The 1.2 Kappa engine is peppy with a 12.9 second 0-60 time. The engine has been tuned for minimum emissions & maximum economy.

Its been about 20 days since I bought my i20. My experience has been great till now. I’ve bought Magna petrol. Bought it from Trident Hyundai, Bangalore.

i purchase i20 magna before 1 month its superb car real luxury of the car eps stering good pickup good ,comfort , stereo system is too good
i m in confusion when go in market for purchase car i final swift vdi and cancel and again i .look indigo cs and cancel and after 1 month i do inquiry about i20 which person have a i20 car and finally i buy the i20 its mileage is 15 or 16 in city without a.c. with ac its 13 or 14 in highway they given 17 without a.c with ac its 15 go for this car its real value of money
I agree wid Janak, i20 is a great car, but so is swift.
